June 2, 2006]

Society just gets worse and worse with each passing moment.

Anyone want to join me in a coalition to get Indiana plates that say "Hey Repubs, FUCK YOU!"?

Ahhhhhhhhhhh so old!
and we were (0) dreaming

so aged [
May 2, 2006]
I'll be a junior in college in 5 days.

I'll be 20 years old in 10 days.

This is crazy.
I don't want to grow up!

back home again! [
January 9, 2006]
I'm finally back up in Ames! I missed it so much. So nice to see everyone for sure. And I love living in the sorority house! Such a different atmosphere than the dorms. Way better.

Oh, and apparently people in Iowa don't think that Ohio is part of the midwest. What a bunch of idiots, haha. For sure.

Okay this is a very short and sweet entry. I got up at 6:30am and had class all day from 8-4 so I'm going to go to bed haha. Just wanted to update for the -2 people that read this!

I start work tomorrow. YAY PAYCHECKS!

You know what? I don't mind political conservatives. I'm pretty conservatives on some points, mainly the economy. But I really hate it when the God-fearing conservative republicans try to push church back into our government.

There is a new bill that is aiming to illegalize abortion in Indiana. It states that life would "start at conception". Who is to say WHEN life starts? I understand if you don't want to have an abortion, but that shouldn't limit the rights of others. That's like saying you don't want to eat ketchup on your hamburger, so it shouldn't be offered at all. Someone should try to pass that bill. Maybe I'll go call my congressman about that. BAN KETCHUP!

And secondly, apparently people want license plates that say "In God We Trust". I'm sorry, but it seems as though now more than ever, people want to show off just how religious they are. Like..."ooh look at me, I pray everyday and I go to church." You know, good for them. If that is what works for them, more power to them. But you don't see me flaunting the fact that I don't believe in God. What would the lawmakers say if I wanted to petition to have license plates that say "I Don't Believe In God". I should try that one, too.

Getting back on topic. This aim to illegalize abortion really pisses me off. It wouldn't even allow abortion if it dealt with rape. RAPE! It would only be allowed if it posed a threat to the woman or whatever. Ridiculous. I don't ever plan on getting an abortion, but I don't feel it's a right we should take away from women. Doing that would have the same effect as prohibition did. MOONSHINE ABORTIONS! ONLY $5!

only one full day left! [
January 5, 2006]
Now I seriously can't wait until Saturday. Everybody is going to be there Saturday night and it's going to be a blast! I have such an awesome core group of friends that I never thought I would find in a million years. I love them all to pieces. I don't think I've ever had friends as good as these ones. Love them. Even if they piss me off (*ahem* Erik) I still love them. I can't imagine not being friends with them. LOVE THEM!

Good times. Also, my dad and I built a little desk shelve for my desk at the house. It's so heavy though! I have no idea how I'm going to carry it up 2 flights of stairs. Oy. I'll probably just give up and have it sitting in my trunk forever lol. Oh my. It will most definitely be a trick.

And...I got a call from the ISU bookstore and my schedule is all figured out. YAY I HAVE A JOB! And I have a phone interview tomorrow for some phone survey thing for ISU so if that is in the evening, maybe I can have two jobs. I'll be raking in the dough. But I'm going to be so incredibly busy this semester it isn't even funny. I'm taking 17 credits (not too bad) but 11 of those credits are going to be PURE HELL (statistics, speech com, drawing studio). Oy. And I have 2 positions in the house (corresponding secretary, assistant philanthropy chair), I'm volunteering for the Design College Career Days w/ Nancy, AND I'll be working. I'm not going to have any time for those lovely friends of mine :(

Oh well. Tomorrow I have to go sell back some of my brother's book to IUPUI. I doubt they'll even take them back since he didn't take the classes at IUPUI...what an idiot. So we'll see. I don't really want to do it, haha. Taking 5 books back and have them be like "Uh...you're not going to get anything for these books" Hahaha. Oh well. Maybe I'll just tell him I forgot.

And TOMORROW I have to get my oil changed, tires rotated and alignment fixed (from me sliding into a curb, ouch!). And I have to pack up ALL of my stuff. It's going to be a good time for sure.

Anyways, off to the pharmacy now with the madre to get a prescription. Good times.

I like how when my dad asks if he's explained/shown something to me before, and I respond with a "yeah", he still makes me sit down and listen to him again.

I'm convinced he likes to hear the sound of his own goddamn voice.

So...my brother is in LONDON right now. How unfair is that? If I had the money I would have been on a plane right now going to visit him, but no, I'm broke. Oh well. He said he's going to send me a postcard, haha. I'm actually really excited about that. I hope he looks for curry Pringles, too! Yum.

Okay. Only 5 days until Saturday!...and Ames! WOO! I get to see Amanda (who is in Cancun right now, lucky bitch!) and possibly Miller if we're not too tired. We'll see. He's having a small get together Saturday night so we'll see. Gah, I miss everyone so much! It's amazing. I don't think I'll be coming back to Carmel until summer break then, eithe. So excited about that! Because I think Amanda and I are planning a neat little roadtrip, haha. To South Dakota! Oh yeah. So I'll probably just go with her to Cedar Rapids rather than drive all the way home then all the way back. Good times, good times.

This is possibly my most interesting post ever. Don't you think? Haha. Oh yeah *yawn*

So last night I watched "Cinderella". Gah, I love that movie! Makes me wish my life would end up like that. Sheesh. Stupid Cinderella gets everything.

Oh, and here is a good video my friend Jon (no, not JON) showed me last night. Oh man, it's actually pretty cool.

(it's the 3rd one, War Photographer or whatever).

i love stealing whit's surveys [
January 1, 2006]
1. When you looked at yourself in the mirror today, what was the first thing you thought?
"Gross, look at that pimple."

2. How much cash do you have on you?

3. What's a word that rhymes with "TEST"?
Zest(-fully clean!)

4. Favorite planet?
You know what...I'm gonna have to say EARTH!

5. Who is the 4th person on your missed call list on your cell phone?
The one and only JOE!

6. What is your favorite ring on your phone?
I like the melody I have now, it sounds...sweet

7. What shirt are you wearing?
An old crappy black tank I wear to bed

8. Do you "label" yourself?
Um, how about mediocre midwestern girl?

9. Name the brand of your shoes you're currently wearing.
Haha, mismatched socks!

10. Bright or Dark Room?

11. What do you think about the person who took this survey?
Welp, I suppose Whit is pretty cool. Haven't seen her in a while...sad, but she was pretty cool in 6th grade, and you're personality in 6th grade determines what you're going to be like now...so yeah, she's cool.

13. What were you doing at midnight last night?
Um, ringing in the New Year Cindy-style (ie, sitting at home, haha) And where did #12 go?

14. What did your last text message you received on your cell?
"I'll fight you for it" from Jon. It's after me teasing him that I had lived in 2006 longer than him and apparently he views violence as a way of beating me to it or something. Kids these days.

15. Where is your nearest 7-11?
I'm going to say 116th & Rangeline. Because even though it is a Citgo now, it USED to be a 7-11 back in the day.

16. What's a saying that you say a lot?
"I'm not gonna deny it"...the Cindy way of saying "I'm not gonna lie"

17. Who told you they loved you last?
Um...I don't know, haha.

My puppy! Even though he is technically a dog now, whatever. And I was giving him a face massage because puppies need lovin' too!

19. How Many Drugs Have You Done In The Past three Days?
*sigh* Not enough, haha. JK! I take vitamins!

20. How many rolls of film do you need to get developed?
None, I don't take pics. And if I did, I have a digital camera anyways bitches!

21. Favorite age you have been so far?
19 has been pretty sweet. But I would have to say any age before menstruation, lots of homework, and when boys still had cooties.

22. Your worst enemy?
Godzilla, for sure.

23. What is your current desktop picture?

24. What was the last thing you said to someone?
Actually, to be quite honest, I yelled out "THE COLTS!" when I put that last answer so...myself!

25. If you had to choose between a million bucks or to be able to fly, which would you choose?
A million bucks, obviously. What idiot would choose flying over money? Find them and shoot them, alright? We don't need people like them.

26. Do you like someone?

27. The last song you listened to?
"Save A Horse, Ride A Cowbody" !!!!

year in review! [
December 31, 2005]
So, I didn't want my last entry of the year to be about me getting a new pez dispenser. So here ya go, stolen from Whitney.

1. What did you do in 2005 that you'd never done before?
- Joined a sorority (best decision ever!)
- Cleaned my life of people who were keeping me down
- Decided to transfer without telling parents, muah ha ha!

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
- I think every year my resolution is to eat healthier blah blah blah. And so I'm going to have that be this one, too! I'll keep having it until I actually do it. Yep.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
- No, thank goodness

4. Did anyone close to you die?
- My grandma, I suppose. But I wasn't really that close to her.

5. What countries did you visit?
- None! How boring!

6. What would you like to have in 2006 that you lacked in 2005?
- Boys bowing at my feet, haha. Just kidding, that'd be pretty annoying. Um, I suppose a better outlook on life. Enjoy it more. Which will be super possible now that I've done a "people cleansing".

7. What date from 2005 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
- Um...initiation! But I can't remember the date, haha. I have it written down somewhere.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
- Joining AOII and getting a 3.44 GPA.

9. What was your biggest failure?
- Not being a very good penpal to my Miami friends.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
- Well, there was a 2-3 week period towards the end of the semester where I pretty much felt like death.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
- My AOII hoodie! I love it!

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
- Amanda's, for sure. I'm thinking she is my soulmate. Yeah, yeah she is. She is just so grounded and is able to see all aspects of a situation and guide you through it. Also, she kept a good head on her shoulders despite all the shit she had to go through this semester.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
- Someone I'm not going to name out of pure care for their dignity.

14. Where did most of your money go?
- Um, retail America.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
- Having AOII extend a bid to me, being elected to 2 positions in the house, moving into the house. Anything AOII haha. That, and meeting the most AWESOME people at Iowa State. Who would have thought that my best friends would be waiting for me at good ole ISU?

16. What song will always remind you of 2004?
- My Humps! Especially when Caitlin and I would dance to it in the car and seeing Amanda just shaking her head at us.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
- happier or sadder? HAPPIER! for sure
- richer or poorer? Poorer than dirt.
- thinner or fatter? Um, thinner I think.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
- More studying! Gotten to know some people I'm not very close to better. Kept in better contact w/ my Miami friends.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
- Gossiping and being unreasonable at points.

20. How did you spend the holidays?
- Family, no friends. How boring. I miss Iowa.

22. Did you fall in love in 2005?
- Nope. But everytime I looked in the mirror I fell a bit more in love with myself because, you know, I'm pretty awesome.

23. How many one-night stands?
- Depends on the definition haha.

24. What was your favorite TV program?
- The Simpsons (CLASSIC!), Family Guy, and Laguna Beach

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
- Haha, YES! Well, not hate maybe. Can't stand is more like it.

26. What was the best book you read?
- Shopaholic and Sister! I'm so intellectual.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
- Um, country. I know, haha. And not that they are a musical to discovery to me since I've been listening to them for damn near 5 years, but I listened to a BUNCH of O.A.R.

28. What did you want and get?
- True best friends

30. What was your favorite film of this year?
- Did Wedding Crashers come out this year? If so, that.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
- I turned 19 and I went to school! Yep, my summer class started on my birthday. Not that I minded, I love summer classes. But other than that, probably just hung around with the fam. Maybe saw Steph? I can't remember.

32. What one thing would've made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
- Um, I can't really think of anything. Maybe not having to deal with some people's drama bullshit.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2004?
- Jeans + hoodie/tee + sneakers = Cindy!

34. What kept you sane?
- I would say friends...but sometimes they can make you insane. So, I suppose just looking forward to the weekends. It's what kept me going half the time.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Um, I don't know. I always fancy me some Prince William though ;-)

36. What political issue stirred you the most?
- Probably any idiot Republican stance on a social issue. Don't get me wrong, I'm hardcore republican when it comes to economics but socially? Major liberal.

37. Who did you miss?
- All of my wonderful friends at Miami.

38. Who was the best new person you met?
- I have two, Amanda and Caitlin.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2005.
- This is a hard one. Probably just that *most* anything is possible. I mean, pulling a 4.0 without studying is damn near impossible. Pulling a 3.44 without studying? Totally possible! Haha, wow. Was this supposed to be a serious one? Oh well...

40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year.
"cuz to me throughout eternity
there's somewhere where you're welcome to go
I said it's something free that means a lot to me
when I'm with my friends I feel home."

So I haven't been to bed before 4am this entire break! Sheesh.

And I'm going make-up shopping tomorrow! Woo! I really have to be in a mood to go make-up shopping otherwise there is no way I'd be able to justify spending $10+ on one eyeshadow. Haha.

Yep, I'm from Carmel.

December 28, 2005]
You know, I never thought I would see the day that I absolutely dreaded getting out of bed. But that is exactly what this break has been like. There is NOTHING for my in Indiana. Nothing. Well, minus the whole family part, there isn't anything.

I've grown too far apart from anyone here. I have nothing in common with anyone. All of my closest friends are 2+ hours away, most of them being 6+ hours away. I find it interesting that I would drive 6+ hours in a heartbeat to see my friends rather than to drive the 30 minutes it would take for me to see 'friends' from high school.

I can't wait until next Saturday. I'm getting the hell out of here and probably won't be back until summer. It's going to be great. I used to look forward to coming back to Indiana...my home, full of memories but not anymore. Nope. Now I'm counting the days until I can be states away. Hell, if I could, I would probably go back right now!

I'm over Indiana and pretty much anyone/thing relating to it.

Damn, I love winter break. But I can't wait to get back to Ames to all my loves!

Today was fantastic. Started off looking like it wasn't very promising that we were going to have a white Christmas but then lovely Indiana weather pulled through! I was so excited. Yep. Had a GREAT lunch/dinner and got some awesome presents. For example...

- black/red blanket with a panda on it (our sorority mascot and colors!)
- beautiful trinket box w/ AOII engraved on the top
- topaz ring/necklace/earring set
- 3 pairs of beaded earrings
- suedish jewelry box
- 3 gift certificates (macys/ayres/sephora!)
- cute behind the head ear muffs
- Cinderella on DVD!
- 4 books
- the supreme court (sounds boring but I love politic type stuff!)
- do fish drink water? (puzzling and improbable questions and answers)
- what every American shoukd know about who's really running the world (the people, corps, and orgs that control our future)
- intellectual morons (how ideology makes smart people fall for stupid ideas)

Plus I'm also going to be getting some drawing leads, a new portfolio, and an ArtBin. Haha, I feel so artsy-fartsy with all my supplies.

Anyways, hope everyone had an awesome Christmas or Happy Hanukah. Oh, and my gift certificates came in a really cute white bear that was holding them. So adorable! But alright, I'm out. SHEEYA!

December 23, 2005]
I'm in a mood to update again. These feelings come and go. I really need to start using this more often...so what I'm going to do is this. Any time I see one of my friends write an entry, I'll write an entry. You all are my inspiration! But only one a day max! Indeed.

Let's see. This past semester was AWESOME! I don't think it could have been any better. I met some *awesome* people. Amanda and Caitlin...not like you read this but I LOVE YOU MORE THAN ANYTHING! And...I have a smidge little crush on a boy...haha :-P And Amanda says he *really* likes me back and stuff so yay. He told her something really cute which is too long to type so if you really care that much, just IM me.

AOII is going fantastically. I could not have asked to join a better sorority. It's such a huge life decision. I mean, you're only a collegiate member for 3-4 years but you're in it for LIFE. I love it. I have two officer positions and I'm moving into the house this semester so I'm super stoked about that. Woot!

I got all my Christmas shopping done today! It's past midnight now and my parents JUST got home from shopping, haha. So...MERRY CHRISTMAS EVE! YAY!

Okay, I'm tired of this. TTYL!

oh GPA [
December 21, 2005]
So, grades came out today. And I have to keep a 3.25 to keep my scholarship but I thought for sure I wasn't going to get it. But I did! YAY!

CRP 253: A-
POL S 215: B+
DSN S 102: A-
ECON 101: B

TOTAL GPA: 3.44!

YAY! I thought for sure I was going to get a C in econ but I must have aced that final to bring my grade up. And if this year copies last year I will be taking more classes next semester and I will get a higher GPA.
